Manolito Steinbach
Rhythm guitarist and cultural ambassador
Manolito Steinbach enriches the band with his outstanding rhythm guitar playing.
As a member of a Sinti musician family, the Berlin native was introduced to the guitar at an early age, influenced above all by his cousin, the world-famous Sinti musician Häns’che Weiss. Having grown up with swing, Manolito is a rhythmic anchor for his fellow musicians. He has presented his skills at major festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Django Festival Augsburg. In 2010, he was also awarded a prize at the Pinneberg SummerJazz Festival.
Beyond his musical work, Manolito is also socially engaged. He is the chairman of Maro Tchatchepen e.V. – Association of German Sinti. In this role, he uses his voice and platform to share his personal story as a Sinto in Germany, promote cultural exchange and actively advocate for the rights and visibility of German Sinti.
